About Us

Home Kitchen Dietary Services, LLC (HKDS), an Illinois based dietetic firm, dedicated in providing nutritious meals to its Members locally and nationally directly to their door.  Being a Member of the HKDS team, you are provided professional dietary services at home of which until now, was only available if you were a patient at one of your favorite medical facilities. 

Home Kitchen Dietary Services, LLC (HKDS) was established by Mr. Nelson "Whit" Whitaker who has 34 years of Executive Experience in the United States and Europe.  His experience started in the United States Army where Mr. Whitaker, served the majority of his career in the Hospitality Industry as a Commissioned Officer. 

After which, Mr. Whit career in the hospitality industry lead him to being an owner of a couple of up scaled restaurants in Lake County Illinois; a member of a national buffet restaurant chain, a Director of Dietetics of a privately owned nursing home organization; and a Director of Dietetics of one of the country's largest company in the health care industry.  After working years in the industry, Mr. Whitaker,  ventured to establish his own facility but with a different concept. 

Therefore, Mr. Whit founded in 2012, Home Kitchen Dietary Services, LLC (HKDS) which is a foodservice firm in the dietary service industry that is dedicated to rendering the same type of services, at home, that one receives in a Skilled Nursing Facility, or Hospital.  Meals are tailored to meet our Members dietary concerns and diagnosed conditions. Our members select from our menu what they desire and their meals are delivered to their door.  Meals are delivered nationally in every state except Alaska, and Hawaii.  Nelson "Whit" Whitaker, CDM, CFPP is a member of the Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals (ANFP).
